Alongside Andrea Stramaccioni at the press conference on the eve of Neftchi v Inter was Andrea Ranocchia. He has played in many matches since the beginning of the season (ten, for a total of 865 minutes), but the Nerazzurri coach wanted him with the group just the same. “This season I’ve started well and I feel good from both a physical and mental standpoint. Silvestre? He’s a good player. Of course he still has to get acclimated to a different situation and needs a bit of time, but he’s working hard and never gives up on the ball. The Italian national team? Like I said, this isn’t the time to think about it. My thoughts are on Inter and improving.”

Could Sunday’s derby against AC Milan affect his psychological state for tomorrow night’s match? The Inter defender clarifies things in a few concise words: “Honestly I’m not thinking about the derby, I had forgotten that it was Sunday… And we shouldn’t be thinking about it as we have important commitments, one tomorrow in fact, and we absolutely must win the game against Neftchi. This is the only thing we’re thinking about.”
