Stramaccioni was interviewed by Sky Sports after the game against Palermo:

“A sigh of relief? Yes it was a while ago we could take it. I liked what I saw from the team, considering that we’re in a problematic situation at the moment. I liked the mentality I saw. We created good chances in the first half, in the second half we lost a bit of quality but the goal made it easier for us.”

About the pressure before the game:

“I think it was only right that we had pressure on us before the game. We have a team with clear characteristics and we have a way of playing that gives our attackers almost all finishing chances. We don’t have wingplayers or midfielders who score with continuity.”

About Milito:

“Today I just want to thank Milito because he played even though he didn’t feel well at all. He gave his contribute psychologically as well. Seeing in what situation we are in at the moment, we did well. We didn’t give Palermo a chance for the whole game.”

About Pereira:

“According to me it’s not easy to come from the portuguese league and to deliver for Inter directly. He’s a left wing player with very good possibilities and we’ve chosen to have faith in him. There were many teams in Italy who wanted him and with Pereira and Nagatomo we’re fully covered in that role on the pitch.”

About the substitution between Guarin and Milito instead of Livaja:

“In that moment I saw it as the right thing to do since our attacker were struggling against the defense of Palermo and they didn’t give us any space centrally. To create more we needed a player who could give us more further away from the penalty area. Guarin gave me an extra charge and could find space with the ball at his feet outside the area. When he came on with Nagatomo he gave us an advantage on the right flank which was good.”

About Coutinho:

“Every player is different. With Cassano we attack in one way, with Coutinho in another. I know Gasperini well and without Coutinho I would’ve lost quality in the build up play. I needed Coutinho or Palacio to drop down to give us an advantage in the build up. Against Juve in Turin it was another story because they would never defend with ten players.”

About the situation with Sneijder:

“First of all I’d like to say I think it’s ridicolous to use the word bullying. There’s not discrimination or violence against Wes. I have the right to chose the players I consider the best for my purpose, which is to win. I’m with the club and Moratti, I always want the best for Wes but we can’t talk about bullying. My task is to put the best team on the field every game and it was my decision not to bring him to this game. I’ve told him that personally, we have a good relationship and we speak everyday. Tomorrow they’ll have a meeting and I hope everything can be finished in a way both parts are happy. Inter comes first though, before me, before Sneijder and before other players. Moratti haven’t told me not to use Wes, it’s my choice and I stand for them.”
