Kovacic Inter

Gianluca di Marzio writes on his blog about all the details from the deal that took Kovacic to Inter:

“Inter payed 11 millions euros to whom 4 million euros could be added. Two million euros will be added if Inter qualify for the Champions League twice in the coming four years. And two millions will be added if Inter win two league titles in the coming 4.5 years.”

It was a hard deal to make, but Inter finished it all fast. Di Marzio explains how:

“Decisive during the negotiations were the lawyer Bozzos work and his fine relation with the Dinamo president Mamic. Manchester City had offered 11 million euros a couple of days before Inter came, but Dinamo said no. The player was seen as unsellable and City pulled back. Bozzo convinced Inter that a deal could be made with bonuses and then waited for the green light from Inter. At lunch, the green light came because Branca and Ausilio wanted to do the deal. Moratti then set up a private jet and Bozzo arrived there in two hours with the offer from Inter and finished the deal, then he came back to Milan with the player the day after.”
