Ezquiel Schelotto stepped off the pitch after netting the equaliser for the Nerazzurri in tonight’s derby and explained to Sky Italia just what that goal meant to him:

“This is my first derby so to start off with a goal is absolutely amazing – in front of all our fans, it’s a joy I’ll never forget. There’s been a lot of talk about off-the-field matters, things that aren’t true. I want to dedicate the goal to my family. For the first time my brothers and my girlfriend Gisela were in the stands watching today.

I want to thank president Moratti, the club, the coach and my team-mates, because they’ve all welcomed me so well. We had lots of chances and in the end we perhaps deserved a bit more, we could have won it, but we’ll take the draw. We have to keep going now. I’ve come here to do my bit for the team, I have to provide my answers on the pitch and repay people for the faith shown in me.”
