Massimo Moratti made a short statement after having met Walter Mazzarri for the first time since appointing him as Inter’s new coach yesterday at the Appiano Gentile. “Mazzarri seems very excited and ready to start working” Moratti is quoted as saying. Joining Mazzarri on their maiden visit to Appiano was his assistant Frustalpi as well as his staff of trainers Papale, Santoro, Pondrelli and Vigian who after having signed their contracts received a guided tour of the trainign grounds by Ivan Cordoba and Marco Branca.

According to Tuttosport Mazzarri and his staff examined the training ground and its facilities thoroughly as well as the logistics before solving the situation regarding Cordoba and Baresi who will all stay in their current roles under the new regime whilst Santoro will get a begin his new role as an advisor to Mazzarri. After this the the transfer-market was discussed briefly before discussing the schedule for the friendly matches to be played when the pre-season training kicks off.

Those players who were at the traning ground today were the longterm injured players Javier Zanetti, Gaby Mudingayi, Castelazzi, Mbaye, Obi and Samuel. Tomorrow these players will also depart for their summer holidays before reporting back to the training camp at the 8th of July when the pre-season training camp kicks off.
