As opposed to Andrea Ranocchia, Colombian international Fredy Guarin is set to extend his contract with Inter despite the controvercy of the past week, according to Tuttosport.

Mazzarri has reportedly not selected Guarin for the squad which will face Juventus but “has in agreement with the club decided not to select him in order to remove some of the pressure which has accumulated around him these past few days. The Colombian, who will be back for the upcoming home fixture against Sassuolo, will sign a contract which will expire in June 2017 where he will get a substantial payrise. Inter know that Guarin is worth more than the 2,2 million Euro’s he’s currently earning and are also aware that Guarin had struck a deal with Juventus of a contract worth 3,2 million Euro’s per season, which means that a compromise is likely with the insertion of different performance-based bonuses.”
