AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani believes that Inter will be the favourites in the upcoming derby between the two Milano sides. The old adversaries lock horns on Sunday evening with both teams needing points to secure Europa League qualification. The 69-year-old also took time to pay tribute to retiring Nerazzurri player Javier Zanetti, who will hang up his boots at the end of the season.
“The derby? Inter are absolutely the favourites, However, we haven’t won a derby since the year we won the Scudetto and it think it’s time we changed that.” Galliani told reporters at a Milan publicity event today.
“Zanetti? He is a symbol of Inter. Milan have always been a rival of Zanetti but we recognise what he has done. He is a player, like Kaka, who is a patriarch of football as a whole.”
