In an interview with Croatian Sportske Novosti, Sime Vrsaljko, the Croatian winger who recently was eliminated from the World Cup in Brazil, commented on the words of Genoa president Enrico Preziosi about the club’s inability to sustain his salary: “If this is his idea, I can’t do anything else than respect it. I’ve had an amazing time at Genoa, they took me to Italy and were satisfied with my season. There’s a long time left of the transfer market, I don’t know what will happen, but if the club intends to sell me and can find a club that is able to meet their demands, and they’ll all be happy, then everything is ok.”

But where would Vrsaljko go? There’s talk about Inter, Roma and Fiorentina, but he avoids answering: “I don’t know anything and I would ask you not to insist. The one who takes care of my future is my agent, Giuseppe Riso. He will tell me when there is something concrete in terms of a transfer. However, I would like to remain a player of Genoa, this is the truth.”
