Chelsea’s Nigerian midfielder, John Obi Mikel, has been rumoured to be on his way out of Stamford Bridge, especially after the players agent, John Shittu, made the following statement to SempreInter.com’s partners FcInterNews.it some time back: “He’s won the African Cup of Nations and the Champions League. His profile is very well suited for Inter.”

However, the player himself has cooled down talks of hims leaving Chelsea amidst rumours which place him in both Inter and Valencia next season, during a press-conference ahead of the second round match between Nigeria and France.

“Chelsea is my home away from home, we can say it’s my second home. You never know what can happen in football but I’m really very happy at Chelsea and I’d like to stay at Chelsea too. I still have 3 more years left on my contract and I intend to stay. I would like to congratulate Cesc for his transfer, I can’t wait until I can play next to him” Mikel concludes.
