Fredy Guarin is one of the top targets on Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simone’s shortlist, according to the Spanish newspaper Marca. However, Simeone is looking at other names as well, and one of them is AS Monaco’s Yannick Ferreira Carrasco, who is also sought after by AS Roma. Guarin would have the right characteristics for Los Colchoneros, a high workrate and a powerful shot from distance, but the Atletico management are not looking to spend too much on a central midfielder as the squad already has three players in that role as well as Koke who can cover the position.
