The frontpages of the Italian sportspapers are dominated by Inter’s 2-0 win away against Napoli in the Coppa Italia and the homophobic slurs uttered by Napoli Coach Maurizio Sarri against Inter’s Roberto Mancini.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport writes “Inter split Napoli. Goals and poison at the San Paolo. Jovetic and Ljajic sent Inter to the semi-finals. Tonight the winner of Juventus-Lazio will play the Nerazzurri. Mancini says: “Sarri is a racist, he should not be able to coach. He called me gay and a faggot. Sarri: “It is not normal to argue about this off the pitch. My apoligies to homosexuals.” Guarin has said yes to the Chinese offer. There is the treasure Soriano.”

Rome based Corriere Dello Sport reports: “Mancini-Sarri. The battle! Mancini is furious: “He called me a faggot.” In the locker room the coach bursted: “He made homophobic slurs.” Sarri responds: “I apologize, these things happen.” Jovetic and Ljajic score. Napoli ko.”

Turin-based Tuttosport states: “We are all Mancini. Inter eliminate Napoli from the Coppa Italia. The Inter coach explodes at the end of the match in the locker room: “Sarri called me ‘gay’ and a ‘faggot’. Someone like this should not take in part in football.” Sarri apoligized but says: “Some stuff should stay on the pitch.” He lost for only the second time.”
