We won our last game in the league against Udinese 3 to 1. Eder finally scored his first Nerazzurri-goal and Jovetic scored a wonderful brace! Now we continue to chase our near impossible dream of the 3rd place. It seems impossible BUT! If Roma struggle in their last three games and we win our remaining games we have a minimal chance of reaching the beloved 3rd place, can we do it? Well, we’ll see tonight! Here are some interesting numbers from Whoscored presented to you via the Twitter account InterStats

Goal-Scoring

Inter sometimes seem to be struggling to score more than 1 goal and sometimes they can score at least 3 goals in a game. Lazio have scored 2 less goals than Inter. Inter have scored 47 goals this season and Lazio have scored 45 this season. Lazio’s Top Goalscorer in the club is Antonio Candreva, he has scored 8 times this season. Inter also have a striker as Top Goalscorer in the club, Mauro Icardi, he has scored 15 times this season.

Goal-Stopping

Inter do still have the 3rd best defense statistically in the Serie A. We have conceded 32 goals so far. Lazio have conceded 47 goals this season, it is 15 more goals than Inter so this does prove that Inter’s goal-stopping is more effective *knock on wood*. Lazio have conceded 7 goals from Set Pieces, Inter have conceded 11 goals from Set Pieces. Inter have conceded 18 goals away while Lazio only have conceded 19 goals in away games.

Passing the ball

Inter average 521 passes per game with each passing streak lasting about 4.8. Lazio’s passing-stats are a bit worse than Inter’s. Lazio average 507 passes per game with each passing streak lasting about 4.4. These stats show that Inter are better at passing the ball than Lazio, Inter average are more passes per game and they miss less passes than Lazio do as well. This cannot however be seen in the average possession stats where Inter average 54% possession and Lazio average 54%.

Best players so far

Jeison Murillo is Inter’s highest rated Whoscored player with a 7.12 rating. Lucas Biglia is both Lazio’s highest rated player and the highest rated player between the two teams with a 7.39 rating. Samir Handanovic has appeared in 34 games this season making him the player (between the two teams combined) to make most appearances this season so far.
