Despite an apparent halt in negotiations between Inter and Fiorentina, the deal to seal Stevan Jovetić’s return to La Viola should still be completed. According to Sky, there remains a will to close the transfer from all sides; the player himself as well as both clubs.
Details such as formulating the Montenegrin forward’s wages are proving to be problematic, and he will almost certainly have to accept a reduction on his current €8m gross per year. Viola sporting director Pantaleo Corvino has suggested that all sides should compromise in order to push the deal through.
Fiorentina are set to increase their offer whilst the Nerazzurri could accept a deal which would see them pay part of the player’s salary. Even despite these obstacles, the expectation is that Jovetić will be playing his football at the Stadio Artemio Franchi this season.
