After the defeat against Atalanta, Inter coach Frank De Boer had the following to say about the game:

“We know that in this stadium it’s always difficult. In the first half we didn’t play well for sure, there was only Atalanta. In the second half we performed much better, especially after the goal.”

It’s always difficult when a club like Inter have three losses in a row, but I think we can improve and play like we did in the second half. When they get their penalty (and second goal), we weren’t concentrated and we lost the game. It’s incredible. I’m disappointed with the first half, it looked like we were afraid, I don’t know why. I told this to my players during halftime and it changed the game”

About referee decisions: “The free-kick against Icardi? It wasn’t a good call, there was no free-kick on Icardi. This is a moment when we just can’t catch a break. There is another episode where the defender holds Icardi.

On Inters current path: “After the game against Juventus we had some phases in the other games where we played really well, for example against Cagliari in 70 minutes. People tend to forget those things when the results don’t arrive. We have taken some steps forward but when the result aren’t good it’s always difficult. A win would have mean’t everything for the team and our confidence. I’ve seen a lot of good things in these games, but today in the first half it just wasn’t the real Inter. In the second half we dominated and created a lot of chances. This is the Inter I always want to see.”

“My choices? We have a lot of great players in the dressing room, and on the pitch enters 11 of them, it’s not the best situation for the players and the staff but we have to accept that. I chose the best eleven players in order to win the match.”
