Jeison Murillo also spoke with INTER Channel after a disappointing defeat against Lazio in the Coppa Italia:

“On their first goal, there was a quick spin that surprised us – said the Colombian -. We wanted to win, but it went wrong. We’re sad and even angry, but we have to raise our heads now because on Sunday we have a very difficult match.

The penalty? “You have to respect the referee’s decision, but Miranda won that challenge. We know that the field is not easy, but despite the defeat, we never gave up, we were always in the game.”

Well this happens in football I Know the lads gave their all but we couldn’t win now we see that our weak spot is our defense we really need to sort that out

The “quick spin” didn’t surprise Felipe Andersson. This game just proved once again that our weakest link are the fullbacks. Until that is fixed, we will never be a consistent top three Serie A team deserving a CL spot. But on a good note, the team did show spirit – it’s just not enough in the long run without top level players on all positions. Now please stay mad and show what you are made of on sunday – Forza Beneamata

I don’t fully agree. Our full backs are not that good but:

When Gagliardini is on CM and Medel is by Miranda’s side, we are a completely different team.

Tonight Pioli HAD to rest one CB and Gaglia, where Lazio played with their first eleven and wanted that match badly.

We could win if we were a little more lucky with Kdog’s shot on the post.

However i hope we get at least 1 point from Rube, then i’m not afraid of anything…

I agree that certain line-ups cover up for the lack of quality in the fullback positions. But that is a limited solution. If Inter want to compete on highest level, it’s just not good enough with mediocre fullbacks.

so true! Finishing in the top three would mean we can’t lose against the top 5 teams and win the clutch games. With mediocre fullbacks, the whole team would have to sacrifice and give 110% in every game. Perhaps it’s a blessing in disguise that we’re out of the Copa, now we can focus on the top 3 goal
