Are you still thinking about getting that UCL spot? “We think of giving everything we have in every game and in every practice, trying to win them all.”
Were you inspired by the performance of Barcelona? “We were inspired by ourselves, working well during the week. It’s very satisfying because we had a great game and the result is only thanks to us.”
12 goals in the last two games and Banega has exploded. How did you bring out the best of him? “I have a lot of great players and my choices are never easy. With our system I can only pick three out of five midfielders. Banega has done well in waiting for his break.”
If the championship would start now, would the objective be the Scudetto or UCL? “In the last 16 games we are second, three points behind Juventus. We are already now on a good level, but we need to play teams that are used to finish amongst the top three. There is some distance between us, but that will be taken care of with hard work and new signings this summer.”
What kind of player have you found in Icardi? “I met a nice guy that is seriuos and wants to work with intensity and availability; for the rest he’s a great player, in the area, how he moves and in the work he does for the team.”
