The first match between Juventus and Sampdoria has generated much criticism, Marco Giampaolo, who is guilty of having changed the teams preparations was interviewed by La Repubblica:

“We didn’t chicken out in the first match against Juve. Saying so is just convenient. If you hadn’t rotated the players during this period of many matches, I would have risked playing poorly in all matches. In this particular match Schick scored his first goal, a player everyone is talking about now. To think that you can play on the same level as Juve isn’t realistic. Schick is growing exponentially, Sampdoria is the ideal springboard. If I were him, I’d stay here at least another year.”
