According to Leggo, Inter would need to pay no less than 30 million euros to secure the services of Dries Mertens. The Belgian is unconvinced by Napoli’s renewal offer of 2.2 million while Suning are prepared to offer him a five year deal worth 3 million, double what he is currently getting in Naples.

It’s always like that. When Inter came, suddenly almost all serie A players slapped with hefty price tag. Remember Bruno Peres? Torino asked 15 million euros paid in front when Inter came. But then he joined with Roma for 1 million euros loan.
I would love to see Mertens in Inter jersey, but 30 million euros for a player who will be 30 years old in this May is a risky bet. Moreover, he is already unhappy to renew his contract with Napoli thus Inter should be favored. If I were Ausilio, I would add that money into our budget to snatch Benjamin Mendy and Fabinho. They will surely help Inter to reach the higher level.
