How important are these moments to recover well and work on certain aspects?

“We need to always work well, the coach likes to work on these things. Now is a little difficult to work because there are few of us, but soon all will be here. Fortunately we play on Monday so we can recover well. We do a great job to have the physical ability and be on the same level.”

“Yes, he is a South American like us. We speak the same language.”

“It’s a very beautiful country, I was born there and I can not say any more. I’m from Rosario, its a football city. Many players were born there, like Ever Banega.”

Your best Inter goal?

“I would say the one against the Bologna or Torino.”

You’ve scored 20 this year but are coming more involved in helping others scorer…

“My contribution is important, but we are a team. We train every day to do well, then the coach decides the team, those chosen must make their own contribution.”

How many goals do you want by the end of the season?

“The maximum possible, two weeks ago I was on 17 then I scored a hat-trick and I got closer to Andrea Belotti. I hope to make it possible above all to help the team win.”

“I watch the NBA or snooker, or tennis. But they are not keen on other sports.”

What do you expect from this team?

“I expect a lot, we have the skills and qualities to do great things. The club is doing great things, this is also a help to us. The first thing we want to do is bring Inter where it was in the past and win many things. We will try to improve every year, bringing players who can help the team.”

“Our owner has followed the team throughout, in Nanjing there are incredible things that we will see up close this summer. We will see the structures and projects that they have to make a great Inter.”

Who is strongest opponent you ever faced?

“All teams have great defenders. It is hard to name one.”

How much more do you think you can improve?

“Playing at 3,600 meters above sea level is very difficult, Bolivians are used to it but others are struggling. The ball always goes along because you never know where it ends. I always see the National, but I am aware of the difficulties.”

How have you liked yourself as captain?

“I’m the same person, those who know me know that. I’m captain, but we are all called to give our hand. We’re all captains, it does not mean anything to bring a band into things unless you do not play for the team.”

What do you think when the San Siro screams your name?

“It’s a beautiful thing, scoring is the most beautiful thing about football and I’m lucky to do it so often. This gives me a feeling that I can not describe it is the most beautiful thing there is.”

Who inspired you?

“My idol was Batistuta, I liked his quality and attitude. I do not want to look like him, I admire him but every player is different.”

At home, with two other balls in the area of memorabilia. A little hidden so none of the children take it. The team have signed it.”

When did you decide you would chip the penalty?

“I had announced the day before to Ansaldi. I knew their goalkeeper was very tall, I hit it up to avoid hitting Berisha’s leg. I had also tried it against Napoli two seasons ago.”

What are your future goals?

“To get Inter playing at a high level. Then I have to score goals, that’s my goal.”

What would you think of Guarin returning?

“I keep in contact, when he was here we were always together. He was fine in Milan, he loves Inter and wants to come back. I do not know how this story will end.”

How has the dressing room changed with Pioli?

“He changed the mentality of everyone. Before failing to get the results was one of the worst things in football. When he arrived he has given the team desire, screaming there when needed, he can handle all things and this is one of the things that changed. On the field he has changed the way we play and this has helped everyone. In the last games we have scored a lot, he is keen to work during the week and on Sunday’s you see the results. I think he has done a very good job, even those who do not play are happy, He knows handle these situations.”

What would you rather, the scudetto or Capocannoniere [again]?
“I’d rather win the league, if you are playing well the goals are coming.”

“Being from Argentina I’d say Messi, then there is Cristiano Ronaldo. I’m from another planet.”

What did you think when you signed for Inter?

“There was great emotion, I remember we were in Genoa with my agent and my father. I immediately accepted, it is a great honour to play in this shirt.”

What is your relationship with Gabigol?

“We are all very well, we are a group who jokes together. We are many Brazilians, Argentines, Italians, Croats; we have our separate groups but we’re good together. People think that because we speak different languages we do not understand, but that doesn’t come in to things, we are a team. I told him that this is not the Brazil and he must continue to train well as he is doing now. In Bologna his goal made us win, he must continue like this because he has so many qualities. ”

How much do you like scoring against Juve?

“For me it’s important and for Inter too and to score against the form team of recent years is always nice.”

Which former footballer would you most like to have played with?

How important was the experience in Barcelona?

“There were so many great players, I had my room inside the stadium and saw the players work out. For me it was a reason to have more desire and say that I can play at that level one day.”

Can you sing the Inter anthem?

“No, but my children sing it often. Even the Chipmunks…”

What do you think of Gagliardini?

“He fitted straight into our system of play, he has done well from the start. He must give continuity and has the desire to do so. I hope that Roberto can make it, has never been afraid to play at San Siro, he immediately showed personality.”

Which coach made you what you are?

“I think all coaches give a little help to the players. Mancini changed my way of playing a bit, he asked me to leave the box, that was one of the first things he asked me.”
