Mauro Icardi leads Inter for goals with 20 and also assists with 8, something Gazzetta dello Sport have deemed a paradox, given his apparent lack of assists and inclusion in goals not scored by himself in the eyes of many.

OK ,just for fairness sake, let’s remember that the always so criticized Candreva also has 8 assists.
And each one of Candreva 8 assists look like the picture of “the typical ,perfect, real assist”
..while a couple of Icardi’s assists,in all honesty, look a little “casual” ,like that obviously mistaken ball control in the box with the ball ending somehow to Brozovic who then scores ,shhoting from outside the box.
    Let’s be real:
    That’s not a “voluntary” assist.
My only point is that Candreva can be criticized ,yes, but let’s not forget that in the end he is still a master in producing danger from the wing.
One has to consider Candreva a midfielder of the right wing, who works the wing up and down, like for example Camoranesi was,not a forward-winger like Hazard or Pedro or Robben ,and in that context,in that particular role, he gives certainties, sometimes he can even be considered a top player at “that”.
Just like all the coaches in Lazio,Italy,Inter ( at least 10 of them,ne after the other,it’s a long list)always considered him.
None of them ever doubted him as a starter.

I like Candreva most of the times, but a “master” at creating danger from the wing doesn’t need 15 tries to get a crossing right. Just saying.

      • Stefano

His crosses are almost never ‘wrong” ,for themselves.
Very often they find Icardi alone with 2-3 defenders around.
We need to get better at that as a team ,so his crosses are more useful.

dude, I think you should start watching Inter games more closely. There’s a reason why Candreva is criticized…

          • Stefano

            Sure..”I never watch them”.
I also watched Italy and Lazio games,by the way.
            Did you,”dude”?
Here is short list (many missing,i am sure I forget some) of the coaches who always wanted Candreva as a starter and never doubted him or put him in he bench EVER..and ,on the other side ..not even ONE who benched him or forgot to summon him for Italy once( always a s a starter):
-Reja,Petkovic,Pioli,Inzaghi(4 out of 4 for Lazio).
-Prandelli,CONTE,Ventura(3 out of 3 for Italy).
            -Mancini,De Boer,Pioli ( 3 out of 3 in Inter).
Those are ALL experiened coaches at medium or high level, and ex pro players at good level.
They all agree with me, apparently.
            With no exception.
But “hey ..if there is a reason ” ..whatever that may be,and some dudes say it in some forum..and “he is not like Robben or Hazard”..( It’s not his role!!).
Then I and ALL OF THEM are wrong.
            And you,dudes,you know best.

          • Bruno Tome

First if all, they don’t agree with you…you agree with them, they don’t even know you. Second, I clearly said I like Candreva, I’m simply saying that his crosses can be wasteful, while you’re saying they’re perfect almost all the time (which is not the case). No need for you to write a book about it. I never said he is shit and should be replaced ASAP, or that he doesn’t deserve to play for Inter. Chill dude, you got too worked up over a simple comment.

            Cheers

Candreva scores some clutch goals for us too

      • Stefano

Each one of his goals( 5 or 6? not sure) has been decisive on the final result.

yes i would say hes better than bernadeschi and berardi right now
