Ausilio: “We believe in Pioli, Oriali? We’ll see”
Piero Ausilio spoke to Premium Sport prior to Inter’s 1-0 defeat at home to Napoli, answering a number of questions:
What do you make of Zhang’s words on Pioli?
“These are the words of a president who wants to be close to staff and management team. I think it’s normal for someone who lives halfway around the world, who wants to transmit energy for the Inter of the future.”
Were you with Oriali?
There was a lunch meetings, but I have so many…Oriali is a friend and I make many meetings with friends. I worked with him for many years, this was one particular thing, but there was the pleasure of being together. We’ll see what the future will bring.”
Can you say for certain that there was no talk of Inter?
“People think that I have the power to go in and out for people, but I deal with players. If they ask me for advice on how to improve the structure, I give them advice. We will see future developments.”
Will Inter carry on with Pioli in charge?
“If I say what I think no one believes me…However Pioli was questioned after nine consecutive victories and names were linked when Inter were close to the Champions League. Then the problems arrived. We believe in Pioli, a month of bad results does not affect previous work. We all know that the goal is to get in to the Europa League. We will evaluate how we closed the season but Pioli has everything to be our coach and today we reaffirm that.”
