After his medical examination, new Inter signing, Matias Vecino spoke about his move to Inter prior to the club’s official announcement. It’s been a very busy day for Vecino, but also full of satisfaction as he made it clear when leaving the Nerazzurri headquarters:

“This is a very special day, as it means a lot to arrive at a club like Inter. Now I can’t wait to get started training, knowing my teammates and starting this new adventure. Coming to a club like Inter certainly means something important. I have been in Italy for a few years now, I think I can give more and will try to do that at Inter. I always gave my best at Fiorentina, so I think we parted on good terms. It is important that a manager wants you in his team. My secret, if there is one, is that I always sacrifice myself for my teammates, as that is more important than quality. I always played as a central midfielder, but the manager will decide where I fit best.”

Vecino then spoke about his reunion with former Fiorentina teammate Borja Valero, who also moved to Inter:

“I saw Borja yesterday and spoke with him several times, he’s a great person as well as a great player.”

Vecino was asked if his first season at Fiorentina under current Milan manager, Vincenzo Montella, made the Milan Derby fierce?

“Absolutely not, Montella was my first manager in Italy and taught me so much. It was my problem, as I needed time to adapt to Italian football, which was a whole new world.”
