Inter released a statement on the clubs official homepage that Gabriel “Gabigol” Barbosa has been loaned to Portuguese outfit Benfica for the upcoming season. According to the statement the Portuguese outfit has an option to make the deal permanent should they decide to exercise that option.
Gabriel Barbosa signed for Inter in August 2016 for a reported transfer fee of €30 million and has failed to stake a place with the Nerazzurri during the last season. Inter are reportedly looking to recouperate most of that sum should Gabigol be a success with Benfica as the Portguese outfit will have to pay Inter €28 million to make the transfer permanent.
