Speaking to Radio Renascença, César Boaventura, one of the intermediaries who manufactured Gabigol’s move from Inter to Benfica, revealed some background about the deal.

The deal to send the Brazilian starlet to Portugal was announced with just hours remaining in the transfer deadline, and provides a young player with a chance to get more consistent game time.

“The player had 12 proposals, one of which was from Porto, through a manager linked to Wagner Ribeiro. Benfica’s was the lowest, but the most important for him,” Boaventura revealed.
