A number of players have been deployed behind Mauro Icardi this term as Luciano Spalletti seeks the best solution. Gazzetta dello Sport report that Spalletti is working on giving Matias Vecino a Radja Nainggolan style transformation in order to place him behind Icardi more regularly. The Uruguayan is the only player to have scored when deployed behind Icardi but for tonight’s game, he will partner Borja Valero in the midfield two. Marcelo Brozovic will be given the nod to play in the number 10 role.
