Inter Vice-President Javier Zanetti spoke on the birth of his Pupi Foundation – which aims to help poor and disadvantaged children – to Corriere della Sera: “It was a wish that my wife Paula and I had for a long time to help the children of the city we were born in. When the Argentine economy collapsed in 2001, we realised that we had to start doing something concrete.” Zanetti added, “We started with thirty-nine children, and we are now following more than a thousand people between children and families.”

The Argentine then spoke on Inter’s social activities: “Inter has always had a special focus on the social side of things. Zanetti then spoke on ‘Inter in the Community’ a new initiative that the Nerazzurri are launching: “The first community of reference will of course be Milan. We will start from here to better appreciate the many interventions for children and teenagers. It’s a common requirement for all big clubs and we are called to make our contribution.”
