The goal-scorer, Danilo D’Ambrosio spoke to Premium Sport just after the final whistle after having scored the winning goal in a hardfought win for Inter at home against Genoa.

There were many difficulties today, the goal must of been a relief?

“Yes of course, there were many difficulties today because Genoa are fighting to get out of a poor position, not only that but it was also the third game of the week so tiredness was also a factor.”

Was it a good response after the draw with Bologna?

“We are a team who has won 5 of the first 6 games and only drawn once. Last year we did not qualify for Europe, so we are now focused on path to hopefully take us there, although it is still early so we cannot lower our heads after a draw but we also can’t jump for joy after a victory. Now we have to maintain this form.”

Are Juventus and Napoli too far away?

“Last year they finished 30 points ahead of us, so I repeat, we must stick to our path, we need everyone who plays and who does not, staff and the public, to help us push on our journey back into the Champions League before anything else.”
