Gazzetta dello Sport columnist Luigi Garlando likened the Milanese clubs results over the weekend to fashion at a fashion show: “During Milano’s fashion week, Inter and Milan play so poorly its scary. However the nerazzurri get away with the 3 points thanks to a corner and reach a position in the standings that sparkles like a jewel: third and 2 points behind Juve & Napoli. Today it looks a nice thing to wear. But it isn’t. If clothes are how you play yesterday Inter and Milan wore cheap clothes. Luciano Spalletti has given Inter a new solidity but they must however pick up as the derby with Juventus could be their first big slip up.”

Garlando also discussed Yann Karamoh’s debut and what the young French winger brought to the team,  “joy, courage, imagination and a desire to astonish.”

He concluded by speaking on the Milan clubs scudetto credentials, “It is dangerous for them [the Milan clubs] to be content with their current place in the league. It was said that Inter could win the scudetto in 2015-16 when they had 15 points after 6 games but Roberto Mancini finished 24 points behind Juventus.”
