Beppe Bergomi spoke to FCInterNews.it in the lead up to the derby, “There are no particular weak points in Luciano Spalletti’s Inter. A limiting aspect is that their game is not that fluid but the team is very solid, even on a mental level, and has many qualities. I think we will see an open game on Sunday.”

Bergomi then discussed his personal experiences in the derby, “What was my most memorable derby? My debut on September 6, 1981. It was a Coppa Italia match where I scored the equaliser in a 2-2 game that put us in the next round. Eventually we won the competition.”

“What was the most disappointing one? When we lost 2-0 against Arrigo Sacchi’s Milan. We were struggling to overcome them in the midfield. It was really complicated.”

Asked who excites him most in Inter’s youth teams, Bergomi said, “Andrea Pinamonti, he has scored many important goals. He’s a very interesting guy whose already in and around the first team.”

Speaking on his life outside of football and his Sky Sport duties, he added, “I have a great passion for basketball, it is a hobby that I really enjoy. I often go to the palace to see Olympia Milano when my commitments allow me.”
