Inter side back Danilo D’Ambrosio today underwent a question answer session with Premium Sports where he spoke about the upcoming Milan derby and many things:

Your view on derby:

“It’s a very important game, the stakes are high as always and the prize is more than 3 points. that are fundamental to the way we are doing. It is a game that must be played to win for the fans, society and to raise self-esteem of every player highly.”

Did you talk about the derby with Bonucci in the National camp?

No, we had something else to think about! It was a playoff qualifier to take part in the World Cup, so there was an equally important jackpot awaiting. We acted like National players.”

Will the match be a Championship decider?

“It will be a match between two teams who are sitting quite highly right now. Moreover, it is a bragging right.”

Handanovic said you guys feel stronger. Your view on that?

“The more you win the more you will feel it. Except Bologna we have won all so far so he might have been indicating that.”

Will Milan and Napoli be providential clashes of the season?

“We will face two teams who are very strong on paper and also from the point of view of the standings. The Napoli tie will be a delicate challenge because they are  very strong at home, so going to Napoli with a positive result in the derby would be something that would help the team to do better.”

Any special derby hero this time on your mind?

“It is a team game. I don’t think like that.”

What is your view about the comeback in April?

“That’s totally history now. Of course we have to think how we can improve but stressing too much wont help at all.”

What about the criticism you guys receive?

“I have been here for last 4 years so I can say that it is a part of the game. Criticism will come followed by the praises. You’ll have to deal with it.”

Has Luciano Spalletti added value?

“Oh yes! Absolutely yes. He is a coach who has a winning mindset, and that’s what he is sending to us. We all must follow him for that.”

Do you think Spalletti could have done better at Inter in past?

“Well it is a tricky question. There is no time to think about it. We must live in present and see how things can be better in future.”
