Inter and Atletico Madrid amongst others, as they try to find the best players, are closely following the performances of Lucas Torreira, the 21 year old Sampdoria midfielder from Uruguay. However is has been revealed that he will remain in blue at least until next Summer, according to Carlo Osti, the Sporting Director of the Genoese club: “We said that this group will not be touched until June, then you will see”, he explained exclusively to Telenord. Torreira is a great player and we will be talking about him a lot in the future.”
The player has become a crucial part of Sampdoria’s recent league success under Marco Giampaolo. Despite his height, he’s had no trouble controlling the midfield, even against some of Serie A’s top teams. With Inter in need of a midfielder such as him, with an ageing Borja Valero who will most likely be unable to continue at his current rate next season, Lucas Torreira would be the ideal replacement for him next summer, now that any move for him in January is off the table.
