Former Napoli forward Careca spoke to Corriere dello Sport in the lead up to this weekend’s top of the table clash between Napoli and Inter: “I’ve seen Inter and they are going through a wonderful time, playing and winning even complicated games. Napoli gives me the impression of being more of a team though, they have a lot of quality.”
Speaking on the Scudetto race, “This Napoli deserves to be champions but the road to the title is still long and there are others like Juventus who have six straight titles, Roma and Inter [who are wanting the title].”
The ‘Ca’ in Napoli’s famous Ma-Gi-Ca (Maradona, Giordano, Careca) front three of the late 80’s and early 90’s concluded by comparing Dries Mertens and Mauro Icardi, “They are both good, it is not up for discussion. Mertens has only recently discovered this role as a striker while Icardi has known his since birth.”
