Ex. Inter Milan Goalkeeper, Walter Zenga was interviewed by TMW Radio and he discussed where he currently sees the club going and what he sees in Mauro Icardi.

On the current Inter team “Honestly, Inter will continue to strike up there in the standings especially since they will not be playing in European competition.  To remember this is a team that finished in 7th position last year.  To think that Inter will be playing Saturday vs. Napoli for which they’re playing the 1st place team and only two points away on Week 9 for the season is very difficult.  Luciano Spalletti has been very good in creating that group feeling and this can only be built from here, only time will tell.  The road is very long and to arrive in March and April there is still a long way ahead.

On Mauro Icardi ” We have to understand where we are in todays society of social media, all major personalities have it.  Everything gets distinguished from the public eye to the image of the person.  Every time he posts a picture it gets scrutinized and becomes a problem.  I was very much one of the few to scratch my nose when he was made captain but if you see what he does on the pitch, Icardi is a top player.  If he continues to score important goals against anyone, I will roll up the blankets and he can do all he wants in the public.”
