Two goals and a header that hit the post is what Mauro Icardi managed to do against Sampdoria tonight when he turned up to speak with Sky Sports after the game.

“I am not happy with how this game ended and I am upset that I did not put that header in the back of the net in the first half. I also missed some passes I should not have missed. These are some of the areas where I have to improve. And we can not risk to lose two points like we did tonight at the end of the match. We have some margins for improvement, we know what we are capable of, the team is strong, the staff exceptional and we are all very, very proud of what we are doing at the moment.”

“There is still a long way to go, we are already concentrating on the next game. Against Napoli we returned home to Milano with a good result, maybe we could have done even better, but we are aware of the potential of this team and we can do even better. Today we should have closed the game off in the first half, we created a lot of chances, we scored, yet we almost managed to ruin everything at the end” Icardi concluded.
