After the 3-2 victory over Sampdoria at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district, Luciano Spalletti arrived at the official post match press conference to answer the questions of the gathering media representatives.
Have you analyzed the game saying that the opponents are a factor, but what changed after the Vecino change?
“Matias ended the match in Naples just because I did not have any midfielders, I told him to grit his teeth, then we recovered for today, but we did not know how long he would have lasted. It is a must to try to win all the matches: there is no truce until the end of the championship, what becomes important is that players have perceived it.”
You only used 14 players in your starting line-ups this season, is there a design behind it?
“There is a feeling that needs to be created, so you have to be lucky and we are making the right choices at the beginning. Then you have to make the players feel that this year we should be able to create a core. I didn’t use Dalbert because he is a bit tired, but I did not put him on either because we played deeper by removing Vecino to bring on Joao Mario. We will improve now.”
The record of points dates back to Ronaldo, are you the Ronaldo of this Inter?
“I played as a player, and when I was not playing football they told me to stay home. It’s fantastic to be with these guys, who all come to training to start working two and a half hours before trainign starts. I am lucky.”
Should we talk about an Inter that can win the Scudetto?
“As long as you ask, it means we are not talking about it, we have to play so many games. What is crucial is the discussion regarding our football which is what we want to take home with us, even tonight, we let up two in goals two plays. We must slowly gain confidence.”
Sampdoria coach Giampaolo said you were afraid they would equalize, is it true?
“I was not afraid, I was sure that Sampdoria could hurt us, and at the same time I knew my players would not let up.”
