One of the catalysts behind Inter’s win against Sampdoria was central defender Milan Skriniar, who opened up the scoring against his former paymasters. The Slovakian international defender was interviewed by Premium Sport regarding his thoughts on the win.
“We are all angry because we had such a great game, we were leading the match 3-0 and we just cannot give up two goals in that manner. But the win is what counts and sometimes this is football. Sampdoria has great players and knows how to play beautiful football.”
When asked about not celebrating his goal, he added: “I didn’t celebrate because I greatly respect that club, though I am more excited for the win than for my goal.”
In conclusion the former Blucerchiati defender was asked about the fact that Inter are top of the Serie A: “We need to always maintain ourselves there, not just for one night but we need to continuously win as many matches as possible.”
