Inter midfield maestro Borja Valero stopped by InterTV to share his thoughts on the match after the 2-1 win away against Hellas Verona at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

The former Fiorentina midfielder, broke the deadlock when heading home his first goal for the Nerazzurri since joining the club this past summer and was very pleased: “Finally I have scored, it is a great joy to score goals. I was lucky, I took toom advantage of the great movement of Icardi as well as receiving a great cross from Candreva. I think the team has done a great job.”

Valero was likened to a professor on the pitch to which he replied: “Thank you very much for the compliments but leats stop [laughs]. I always try to find empty space to do my best for the team and every now and again I am able to. Now the matches are getting more and more difficult, the teams all study us just like we study them. It is never easy but thanks to the power of the team we are managing to take home a lot of points. Us new players have adjusted very well, the group is healthy and this makes things easier.”

Valero was then asked which role he prefers the most to which he replied: “I can play high up and I can play deep, I have the ball more when I play deeper and I try to dribble a lot. When I play further up the pitch I am closer to the oppositions goal and I am able to make the final pass. I am happy to be playing.”

In conclusion the Spanish midfieler was asked what if anything is missing at this Inter: “We have a lot of areas where we can improve, the coach thinks about what we need to improve and shows us how to implement it.”
