Spanish midfield maestro Borja Valero was interviewed by Premium Sport after having scored his first goal for Inter since joining the club this past summer when leaving Fiorentina together with Matias Vecino.

“Today we demonstrated again that we are a solid team that always wants to win. We always look to win every match, and it gets more and more difficult like we saw today but we always try to win and then at the end we see if we managed to or not. There is no sense in talking about the Scudetto right now, there is a long way to go, we are looking to do things in the best way possible” Valero started.

The former Fiorentina midfielder was then asked to comment on his position on the pitch stating that “Wherever the coach puts me, I always try to do everything I can to help the team. Up front I have the possibility to get into the penalty area more and to score goals, whilst when I play deeper I see the ball more. I enjoy myself no matter where I play on the pitch.”

“The movement of the ball can be improved, I agree, there are things we need to work on but that is how it shoudl be. From a physical point of view not playing in Europe maybe helps us, we don’t have to worry about the week getting broken up but every match is a world of its own and we need to win as many as possible. Spalletti is very good at training our bodies and our heads, he has clear ideas and he tells what he wants from us in a very clear way” Valero concluded.
