Today’s frontpages of two of Italy’s main sports newspapers discuss Inter’s 2-1 win away yeseterday evening at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi against Hellas Verona.

Rome based Corriere dello Sport tops with the headline “Inter Bite. Verona defeated 1-2 in the delayed match. Second place and a record set: The best start to the season of all time” referring to the fact that Inter’s 9 wins in 11 matches are the best start the Nerazzurri have had to a Serie A season since the 3 point system was imposed.

Turin based Tuttosport dedicate almost their entire frontpage to the Champions League fixture between Juventus and Sporting Lisbon but do not fail to mention the Nerazzurri’s win in the Serie A which takes Spalletti’s team back to 2nd place in the Serie A 2 points behind Napoli in 1st and 1 point ahead of Juventus and Lazio in 3rd and 4th place respectively.

“Perisic torpedo sinks Hellas Verona. The Croatian saves a troubled Nerazzurri team after Pazzini equalized from the penalty spot: Spalletti in second place and sets a new record” the headline reads.
