Milan Skriniar has set the Serie A alight so far this season after his summer transfer to Inter from Sampdoria. The Slovakian international gave an interview to Slovakian media outlet Sport regarding his start to the season as well as transfer rumours which state that he is on his way to FC Barcelona.

“I am very happy about the results the team has earned. We struggled on Sunday against Torino, but Inter remain near the top of the table and close to Napoli. I put myself at the team’s disposal as best I can and I am also very pleased about the two goals I have scored.”

The former Blucerchiati defender was asked about his impression of coach Luciano Spalletti stating that “I know he always speaks very highly of me and I am happy he appreciates my performances. He is a tough coach, but very good, certainly one of the best in Italy. We have a great relationship. It is a great advantage that he knows when to work and when to relax. This leaves plenty of space for his assistants to work, so our sessions are always very dynamic. When they separate the group based on our positions, the assistants prepare us very well.”

In conclusion Skriniar was asked if Inter can win the Serie A as well as sharing his thoughts on the rumoured interest in him from Spanish giants FC Barcelona stating that “last year the team did not do very well as, for a club if this stature, finishing between seventh and ninth is just not good enough. It would be naive to say we can win the Scudetto, because the competition is so great with teams like Juventus, Napoli and Roma all challenging. A place in the Champions League is what we must look to achieve. I’m an Inter player, and I do not talk about transfers. Barcelona is Barcelona, but I do not say anything, I’m at Inter and I’m very happy.”
