In a long discussion with Slovakian media, Inter defender Milan Skriniar discussed many items during his time in Italy, starting with how Inter’s legends welcomed him to the club and who he idolized when growing up.

“When I signed for Inter, Javier Zanetti sent me a message telling me I arrived in the right club. Zanetti is an incredible person, a legend at the club who continues to work hard for the team. I was humbled to be with him when he organized a charity event for children as well. When we toured China during the summer, Diego Milito also joined us, another legend. These players played such a huge role in the history of Inter, even when they’re not playing they are still an integral part to the organization.”

The former Sampdoria defender was asked which football player he admires stating that “Bracilian Ronaldo, when I was younger I wanted to be a striker. When I went to the San Siro museum with my parents, the majority of the time I stood taking pictures alongside his jersey.”

In conclusion Skriniar was asked about his impression of Italy as a whole stating that “it is an amazing country, you live excellently. I lived in Genoa and now in Milano, the first has the advantage of the beach, the second has amazing monuments. The food is just super. In the beginning I had a tough time with the language, but David Ivan and my other team mates helped me with translations. It took a little bit to get used to the Italian language but steadily it grew on me and now I can talk to the media in Italian. Footballing wise it is very tactical and I understood this immediately going to Sampdoria. I won’t lie that it was a bit boring during practice but in game speed everything has a sense to it. I worked hard to learn the system and I have responded greatly especially with great teammates around me. Thankfully during training players are able to showcase what the coach is looking to do on the pitch during match days.”
