German media reports suggesting Bayern Munich are interested in Inter’s Mauro Icardi have now hit Italy.

Gazzetta dello Sport are noting the interest of the Bavarian club but stress the Inter captain’s reluctance to leave the Nerazzurri with him being under contract with Inter through to 2021 and married to the long term project at hand at the San Siro.

Bayern have taken an interest in Mauro Icardi in case they are to bid farewell to superstar striker Robert Lewandowski. The 29-year-old Pole is understood to be of interest to Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea.

As part of his aforementioned contract, 24-year-old Icardi has a €110 million release clause which is only able to be exercised by clubs outwith Italy.

In 12 league outings this season, Icardi has netted 11 times and provided one assist. His form this season has earned him multiple call ups for Argentina, which had long alluded him beforehand.
