Portugal interantional and Inter midfielder, Joao Mario, spoke to Inter TV about the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia next summer.

He firstly recalled his first memories of watching the World Cup.

“My first World Cup was 2002. That Portuguese team was very strong and has remained a part of Portuguese footballing history.”

The 24-year-old, who has made nine appearances this season then revealed his personal World Cup Dream.

“I always dreamed of being able to play in the World Cup and now I have the opportunity to do just that. Now I want to give everything of myself and hope I can win it too.”

Joao Mario was part of the Portugal side that won Euro 2016 last summer in France and his international success contributed toward him sealing a €45 million move to Inter from Sporting Lisbon that summer. His time with Inter may not last much longer if circulating reports are to be believed which suggest an exit, possibly as early as January, could be on the cards.
