Inter’s Ivan Perisic was among the goals as his Croatia crushed Greece 4-1 in the first leg of their World Cup Qualifying playoff match last night.

The winger praised his national team teammates and in particular fellow Inter man Marcelo Brozovic, who got two assists, including the assist for Perisic’s goal.

“I have to say that we all did well. It was an excellent ball from Brozovic for Sime Vrsaljko for the third goal and then he crossed it for me to score,” he told Sky Sports microphones.

The second leg is to take place on Sunday night in Greece and despite being as good as there, Croatia will have to make sure to guard against complacency.

28-year-old Perisic has been one of the stars of Inter’s season, scoring four and assisting five in 12 appearances. Since his arrival back in 2015, Perisic has asserted himself as a fans favourite among the Nerazzurri faithful and recently signed a new contract which ties him to the club until 2022.
