Inter coach Luciano Spalletti’s start to the 2017/2018 Serie A has already surpassed Roberto Mancini’s and José Mourinho’s record when it comes to the Nerazzurri’s results at home at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.
Between 2006 to 2010 Inter’s best start is racking up 16 out of a maximum 18 points which is exactly what Inter has managed to do this season. Turin based newspapaper Tuttosport sheds more light by reporting that “Mancini’s Inter from the 2006/2007 season started off with a draw against Sampdoria but continued to win 9 straight games. The season after it was repeated with a draw followed by eleven wins. During the 2008/2009 season José Mourinho’s Inter started their campaing with three victories followed by a 0-0 draw against Gian Piero Gasperini’s Genoa, who proved to be a tough opponent tactically for José Mourinho. After that match, Inter won another four games on the trot. During the treble winning season, Inter started with a 1-1 draw against Bari followed by 5 wins and a draw against Roma in the Serie A. This Inter, is already a historic Inter, who has won 30 points from a possible 36. Should Luciano Spalletti manage to lead the Nerazzuri to a win today, Inter will have 33 from a total of 39 points.”
