After having kept a clean sheet following a few good saves, Inter’s Slovenian goalkeeper Samir Handanovic stopped by InterTV to give his thoughts on the 2-0 win at home against Atalanta in Serie A.

“We did well against a tricky Atalanta side. We did everything that we had prepared and won deservedly” Handanovic began before firmly stating that “today the league table means nothing, we need to stay up there and continue to do what we are currently doing, maybe improving a little bit too.”

The former Udinese goalkeeper was then asked if Inter’s great position in the Serie A league standings could function as a form of stimulus to keep pushing to which Handanovic replied that “there are many teams up there in the top of the league table, enough with making a mistake one Sunday and then you are drawn back into the fight. Now it does not mean anything, what is needed is performances.”

In conclusion Handanovic stated that “the thing that makes me the happiest today is that we did not concede a goal. Winning gives you confidence and faith it is always a beautiful thing.”
