Four time Balon D’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo is against Mauro Icardi joining Real Madrid according to a report from Spanish outlet Don Balon.

The report states that the Portuguese attacker, who is widely regarded as the best player on the planet by many is against the Inter captain joining Los Blancos due to Icardi’s differing opinion when it comes to who the best player on the planet is.

24-year-old Icardi recently labelled compatriot Lionel Messi as the best player in the world “without a doubt” in an Instagram post and this has angered former Manchester United man Ronaldo.

Icardi has come in to links with the Spanish giants in the past week as an alternative to them signing Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski. Icardi, who joined Inter back in 2013, has netted 13 goals in as many games in Serie A this season and is under contract with the Nerazzurri through to 2021 with a €110 million release clause in his contract.
