Inter’s Geoffrey Kondogbia spoke on watching football when he was growing up in an interview with Spanish outlet El Desmarque earlier today.

“When I was a kid I watched a lot of teams and I had the jerseys of many of them, including Valencia. I really liked many teams, I had a Valencia shirt, but I can not say I was a fan, I also had other shirts in my collection. From Pablo Aimar to the likes of Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldinho; players who made me dream.”

The Frenchman, who is currently on loan at Spanish side Valencia then spoke on his spell with the Mestalla stadium outfit so far.

“Today I have more confidence in myself and I am part of a good group. We all try to give each other a hand and these little things have helped me in scoring three goals.

How many goals will I score in the end? I have not set a precise goal as the most important thing is to work collectively and win as many matches as possible.

“It’s hard to say if this is the best time of my career. In some respects yes, in others no. At the level of the game, there are some aspects where I’m at my best, in others I’m doing less well than in the past few years. I need to improve especially in reading the game, there are moments when the team must rest and others in which it needs to attack.”

The 24-year-old midfielder concluded by sharing his ambition to make France’s World Cup squad for next summers tournament in Russia.

“There is a lot of competition but the goal is to be present at this tournament. I will try to be the best I can be, then it is not up to me to decide. I have to send a message on the pitch to the national team management.”
