Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sports give an update on the current physical status of Inter’s Uruguayan international midfielder Matias Vecino, who came off the pitch injured early on the second half in this past weekends Serie A fixture away at Cagliari.

After the medical examinations it was found out that it was only a strain which does not put him at any of risk of missing the Derby D’Italia clash against Juventus in a fortnight. However his recovery is anything but certain against Chievo this weekend.

The 26 year old Uruguayan midfielder will work with the physiotherapist today and tomorrow and there will be a test conducted on Thursday and Friday where he will be evaluated to see if he will be fit enough to play on Sunday. Meanwhile, Joao Mario and Marcelo Brozovic remain on standby in case he does not make it to the squad.

Matias Vecino has been a key member of Luciano Spalletti’s Inter so far this season and has played some part in almost all of Inter’s matches since his move from Fiorentina in the summer.
