Real Madrid is very interested in Inter captain Mauro Icardi, that is no longer a secret and is something that has been known for weeks now. In today’s edition of Italian newspaper La Repubblica, journalist Andrea Sorrentino talks about how the Argentinian striker is heading towards writing his name in the history books.

If he scores another four goals before turning 25, which he does on the 19th of February 2018, he will join legends like Boniperti, Altafini and Meazza, all of them captains and who all scored 100+ goals before they turned 25. Today when he puts on the Inter jersey he has scored 15 or more goals for the fourth consecutive season.

“He is a sniper, but has also learned to play for the team. He is very reliable and certain events in his life has made him think. He is a professional and a father, something that happened when he was only 22 years. According to Icardi himself this is not unusual in Argentina but a young age to start a family if you ask an Italian” Repubblica reports before continuing “Real Madrid has a passion for Icardi, but the Spanish club has not contacted Inter yet. Everybody at Inter are calm because there is the buy-out clause of €110 million of. Also Maurito is happy at Inter and Milano and knows that his salary will get a bump should Inter qualify for next year’s Champions League. Should Real Madrid knock on Inter’s door with that amount of money, anything can happen, but at the moment no one at Inter wants to remove the buy-out clause.”
